Whenever I tell someone I work as a Home Stager I get TONS of questions. It is so fun to explain how the process works and why it’s probably my favorite part of my job.
You get results immediately - and I’m a very results-oriented person! And I love a good makeover :)
Homes are vacant, homes are lived in, homes have been listed for a year or more with no interest, realtors and sellers just don’t know what to do, OR, better yet, they do know what to do and reach out before even listing.
Home staging is equal parts creativity, patience, flexibility and honesty. I’ve learned a lot over the years about dealing with so many moving parts. You need to be creative when working with existing furniture. You need to be patient when working with sentimental family objects.
You need to be flexible when working with budgets and if a family is still living in the home while its staged and on the market. And finally, which is unfortunately the hardest sometimes, you need to be honest when working with a seller and realtor when you are explaining why you need to remove certain items from a home.
